REDWOOD CITY, CA: Equinix, a provider of data center solutions, announces to offer direct and private access to VMware vCloud Air on Platform across North America and Europe. The new services can be accessed via Equinix Cloud Exchange and provides uninterrupted network performance for businesses looking to build their VMware-based hybrid clouds.
The use of hybrid cloud has increased by 45 percent in IT enterprises. The direct access to VMware vCloud Air allows VMware customers to combine on-premises investment with the public cloud without the inherent control, latency and security concerns.
New Features of the Offering
Direct access enables customers to move seamlessly from the existing vSphere infrastructure to the VMware vCloud Air on Platform. It allows the customers to combine multiple network siloes into an Equinix IBX data center and connect to vCloud Air. The customers with aggressive recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO) can reduce the application downtime by placing critical applications close to vCloud Air for direct recovery.
Equinix offers direct access to many cloud platforms such as Equinix Cloud Exchange or Equinix Cross Connects. The Equinix Cloud Exchange in an interconnection solution that provides virtualized connections with enhanced security and higher bandwidth.
