FREMONT, CA: Salesforce, a provider of internet services and solutions, announces the acquisition of MetaMind, a computer software solutions and Deep Learning research and application provider.
Salesforce’s acquisition of MetaMind will advance Salesforce’s data science capabilities by embedding MetaMind’s deep learning capabilities into its enterprise platform. Salesforce aims to use MetaMind’s expertise and technology to further automate and personalize its customer support, marketing automation, and other business processes.
Deep Learning is a new area of Machine Learning research, which has been introduced with the objective of moving Machine Learning closer to Artificial Intelligence. MetaMind as a standalone company enables clients to simplify automated decisions by utilizing its deep learning ability to predict outcomes for language, vision and database tasks. MetamMins also shifted its focus from natural language processing to image analysis, to provide a wider field of services to its business clients.
Combining MetaMind’s experience and technology, the newly acquired Salesforce offers to provide customers with real Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions and services.
“Over the past year and a half, we've been on a mission to empower business users with state of the art deep learning technology to simplify, improve and automate decision making,” says Richard Socher, CEO of MetaMind. “Now, we'll be able to continue our journey at Salesforce on a much larger scale, with the resources and ecosystem of one of the world's most innovative and influential enterprise software companies. We plan to continue our AI research, so you'll continue to see us publish groundbreaking discoveries that advance our deep learning platform's accuracy and capabilities.” he added.
